Exchange rates are updated every 60 seconds during market hours using data from major financial sources. Weekend rates reflect the last available market rate.
Generally, withdraw local currency from ATMs at your destination for the best rates. Avoid airport and hotel exchange counters, which charge 5–15 percent markups.
We show the mid-market rate, which is the real exchange rate. Banks and exchange services add a margin of 1–5 percent on top. Knowing the mid-market rate helps you spot bad deals.
